Our business was built by passionate and committed people and now moveero Ltd, based in Telford, are looking to recruit a Technical Quality Apprentice to join their team in a fast paced, primarily off-highway wheel and automotive manufacturing environment.

Role Purpose:

moveero Ltd (Telford) is seeking to recruit and develop a Technical Quality Apprentice.

In this role the candidate will be supported throughout their apprenticeship with practical work-based experience along with academic training to gain a full working knowledge in all aspects relating to quality within a fast paced primarily heavy off-highway wheel and automotive manufacturing environment. This will include quality Inspection, both destructive and non-destructive testing, generating reports, reading detailed engineering drawings, calibration of standard and non-standard equipment and SPC.

Key Responsibilities
This role will work closely with operators/supervisors and quality personnel to ensure consistently high product output from specified departments through inspection and audit in designated areas. It will also be required to support the central quality team in other allocated tasks.

  • Work based apprentice training will be given to carry out duties including but not limited to:
  • First off / patrol inspection using checking fixtures, samples
  • Ability to read detailed engineering drawings and geometric tolerance
  • Visual weld inspection and weld macro examination
  • Inspection of parts / assemblies using 3D CAD CMM machines
  • Control of calibrated gauging, measuring and test equipment
  • Raising of dimensional inspection reports to moveero / customer requirements
  • Internal auditing of quality daily checks and containment actions
  • Support the company at customer / supplier sites as required
  • Prioritise, generate and promote safe working practices and adherence to health and safety standards at all times
  • Maintain adherence to personal protective equipment standards and required / expected level of housekeeping at all times


Academic based apprentice training includes: 

  • Read and extract relevant engineering and manufacturing related data and information (such as workplans/ project plans, schedules, drawings, specifications, production data, quality reports, costing data, statistical information) drawing accurate conclusions and making informed decisions
  • Use project management tools, such as Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT), stakeholder matrices, risk mapping, radar chart and summary risk profiles
  • Use problem solving tools such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Process Failure Modes Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Fishbone, Practical Problem Solving (PPS) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Use the approved process and quality compliance procedure to create or amend engineering and/or manufacturing documentation
  • Analyse and interpret data and information to generate manufacturing engineering documentation such as Parts Per Million (PPM) quality adherence, cost analysis and test data
  • Communicate using the appropriate method for the audience such as, formal and informal presentations, written reports, verbal, electronic, social media and incorporating relevant and appropriate data and / or metrics
  • Use lean tools and techniques, such as Six Sigma, 8 Wastes, workplace organisation such as 5S (sort, set in order, shine, standardise and sustain), Kaizen and Poka-Yoke (error proofing)
  • Apply documentation control processes and procedures such as format, location, access, authorisation
  • Use financial planning, recording and review processes and documentation such as departmental budgets, estimating, cost control, cost forecasting, and investment appraisal
  • Use computer-based software systems / packages such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Data Analytics
  • As part of the apprenticeship programme the successful candidate will be sponsored and expected to gain the relevant qualifications.


It is essential that the candidate has the following minimum obtained or forecasted grades in order to meet the entry requirements for the apprenticeship course:

  • 5 GCSE's at Grade C (Grade 4/5 in the new numerical GCSE grading system) or above, including Mathematics, English and a Science, Technology or Engineering related subject, or 90+ credits in an Engineering BTEC at level 3. (As further guidance, the level of Mathematics has an advisory GCSE level of grade B (Grade 5/6 in the new numerical GCSE grading system)
  • Appropriate level of written and verbal English required to satisfy health and safety requirements and to complete the apprenticeship qualification requirements

Specific Functional Capability/ Knowledge/ Skill requirements

  • The production demands of the manufacturing facility require a high degree of reliability of manufactured parts and processes and flexible attitudes to working, to meet contractual obligations
  • Computer literate – with a proficiency in Microsoft Office in particular Outlook, Excel and Word
  • High standard of both written and verbal communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop working relationships and work effectively with a wide variety of internal staff and external suppliers
  • High attention to detail and quality awareness
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and without supervision along with the ability to work as part of a team in a busy manufacturing environment
  •  Strong self-reliance and personal motivation along with excellent time management
  • Be adaptable, flexible and demonstrate willingness to accept changes in operational requirements at short notice

Hours of Work:

37 hours a week. Initially day shift during Apprenticeship although shift work may be required depending on business needs.


 Salary (increases Year 2 onwards are dependent upon confirmation of successful completion of the prior year):

  • Year 4 £14,414

185 hours annual leave.
